Getting to Know: Ms.Espino
Last fall, we began interviewing our new faculty. Today, we feature Sofi Espino, our 5th/6th Teacher Intern. Sofi is a Saint Mark’s alumna and calls Saint Mark’s her “second home”. She started preschool upon arriving to the US with her family and says the Saint Mark’s way is truly embedded in her personality. This year she looks forward to enhancing her classroom management skills and wants to helps students use humor to enlighten their day.
In her free time, she loves watching live entertainment and exploring LA. “I also want to be the Guy Fierri of my time and enjoy going to cool local restaurants, food trucks, and food festivals”, says Sofi. Her biggest role model is Amy Poehler. “She uses humor to inform the public in a way that feels very true, eloquent and from the perspective of the everyday woman”, she says. A personal highlight for Sofi this year is for her students to learn the value and power of knowledge and use it for good.
